Sling - Galing

I was injured.  I had my collarbone split in two last Saturday when we went to Kite Festival.  It was not because of the kite.  I was swinging from the chain of post in the facility when my Mom already told me not to do so.  I flip backwards while holding tight from the chain.  I tried to protect my head not to hit hard on the ground and did not let go my holds from the chain.  It was my arm that suffered most.  My parents did not know how serious it was until Sunday night when they noticed a bump in my collarbone and wondered why I was so lame the whole day and complaining of my arms.

We were off too early the following day [Monday] and both of my parents took a holiday from their work and did not waste anytime to take me to a doctor.  I am in so much pain. I was taken for emergency drop-in hours.  The doctor sent us to take me for an x-ray and we did.  We were sent from one place to another and I am the 1st patient where ever we go, due to our early rush.  As soon as the  x-rayed was done the attendant gave my Mommy the the xray  film and told her to bring me back to her doctor.  The xray film are as big as a my blanket that anyone can read even if you're not a doctor.  We can see that my collar bone split and overlapped.  The doctor gave us a referral and my Mommy called immediately only to be disappointed that the earliest appointment we can get is not until Wednesday.  You can imagine my misery.  Meanwhile, we got a sling to protect my arm but did not found the right size, we customize whatever we got while waiting to Wednesday.

Wednesday came: by this day I'm at least getting back to my normal talk but still in pain.  We drove to Children's Pediatric Hospital where the referral is.  The children's ward had a number of kids with broken arm, cast, sling, broken leg etc ....  I am so far the only girl patient!  All of them are boys.  Are you guys surprise? and no one to play with.  I'm shy with boys around.

It was not as bad as we thought and thank god for that.  The doctor told us that my shoulder will align by itself but it will take time of course.  Takes about 3-4 weeks and of course take an extra care and protect the injured arm.  He even told us if we take another xray after 4 weeks we won't even be able to tell which shoulder was broken [that of course if you can't identify left or right].

When we got home, worry free and with the proper sling from the hospital, my parents thought they can relaxed, they wished!  I am getting back to my normal 'hyperactive bonanza' I started going up and down , running around, jumping! while in sling! My parents are watching every move I make.  They can't sit still, my Mommy's turning red and more worried than ever - My daddy's  voice is getting louder from warning -  and I can tell that my Mommy's forming a plan or something!

She snap out of thinking and took off my sling, took a bandage and wrap it around my body while my left arm stays in place.  I now move around like a zombie - but so be it!, that's at least what my Mommy said.
